I don't know this pair, but I came across the video while searching for squirrel info after I wrote that last entry about "Where Have all the squirrels gone?"
I thought it was kind of cute, as any animal lover would. I don't think I'd like to invite the critter into my bedroom, although this little guy looks friendly enough. Who is singing the song? It's a little over three minutes long.
It's probably not a good idea to make pets of them. Yet there are times when one comes across an injured or young squirrel, and one wants to take care of it. I don't have all the instructions for doing such under those circumstances, but here is a link that provides some advice for caring for wild squirrels who are not ready to be released back into their natural habitat.
Just because I figured you hadn't seen this squirrel video... there are beaucoups of others at youtube, of course. I chuckled my way through several.
Yeah, I know ... they're rodents.
But they are so cute in these videos.

I love squirrels, but I'd never dream of having one for a pet.

Whata cute video Bea! I have squirrels that come to our nut feeders. Annoying sometimes because they pretty much destroy them trying to get into the nuts, but at the same time they can be quite cute!

Ray Stevens is the singer of the "Squirrel" song, Bea. I have an old LP stashed away in the bottom of hubby's Den closet with many of his funny ones. Always liked "The Streak" - remember that one?

((((((((((((((((((HUGSTOYOU)))))))))))))Have a nice day.
I just had to go and take a peek at some of the others after seeing this. I did smile...especially at the water skiing squirrel.
Thanks for sharing Bea. I had fun!

I see that someone has already identified this as a Ray Stevens song. Thank you for the wonderful laugh, the song is very funny and the video is so cute. I checked out some of the other squirrel videos and I've had some very good laughs so far.--Sheria
Cute or not, they're still just fluffy rats.
Great video though.

Great video! Our neighbors raised a baby squirrel this past year. Over the summer it was old enough that they let it come and go as it pleased, and finally it took off and stayed gone.

I used to have a schnauzer... bossy little SOB...we called him Louie The Rat. He survived that ocean storm in Massachusetts that George clooney made that perfect torm movie about... I found her standing on the kitchen table.
Shoot, I forgot to turn up the sound
on the cat & 'rodent' squirrel video.
Watching, I thought that was your husband
carressing the cute little creature. I
wanted the cat to fight the "rodent"
in a Coleseum moment of atavistic
violence hunger, ha ha ha ha hah a ha....
I'll say ten 'Hail Marys' and swear to be
more humane. Fun! The editing is good
when one considers the probable paucity
of footage to cut from.

I am scared of rodents, LOL. Except House Mouse graphics, LOL. Now they are cute.
Where I lived about 10 years ago, everybody fed the squirrels. They would put peanuts in their homes in a bowl and let the little rodents run inside and onto their tables and grab them out of the bowl. It is not really a wise idea to do this, is it? What if one of them had rabies? Just wondering.
