This is purely for fun. I know that most if not all of the journal visitors out here are lovers and keepers of animals and pets. Today, a dear friend of mine emailed the link to this incredible demonstration of devotion, training, and the joy of dancing to Grease tune "You're the One That I Want!" , and rather than forward it, I decided to post it here.
Tell me it didn't make you laugh and smile... it is too adorable to pass up. I hope your computer has the necessary installations for you to view it. If not, go to this YouTube website:

I'm thinking of Indigo, a great dog lover, who won't be able to hear the music, but possibly she remembers this number which John Travolta and Olivia Newton John made famous back in 1978. I hope so. The words following the video are for your benefit, my friend.
Indigo... I'm writing the words to describe the scene that goes with the music in the hopes that you recall the song, and in your mind can hear it while you watch the video. The actual music doesn't start playing until at the 39/40 second mark..or at the point where Carolyn signals her dog and Rookie takes his first step between her legs. At that point are the beginning beats of the song. For your pleasure, I've recorded the words of the announcer as Rookie and Carolyn enter the arena during those first forty seconds before the music begins:
"...(words fade in here) ... exciting, challenging, and so much fun! Rookie enjoys freestyle so much that he often has ... (I couldn't understand the few words here)...... Carolyn says Rookie always has the last word regarding choreography to the music and does choose to make changes now and then. It seems at times Rookie just can't resist throwing in some unexpected moves, but would rather wait and surprise Carolyn on the day of their performance. Today they'll be performing to the music from the movie Grease the song is "You're the One that I Want!"
At the point where John Travolta sings the words "It's electrifying!" Carolyn takes a spin, and Rookie spins to match her steps. When you see Rookie sit back and rest his right paw on Carolyn's thigh, that's the part of the song where Olivia is saying "You better shape up, cuz I need a friend"... you know, the scene where Olivia is dancing toward John and he steps back... Where you see Rookie backing up to Carolyn as she beckons to him, she is singing "meditate in my direction..." She's singing "to my heart I must be true" (about 1:22 mark) as she dances around her pup.
Also, for your enjoyment, Indigo, are the words to the song. B means boy/Danny; and G=girl/Sandy.
"You're The One That I Want!" from Grease, 1978.
B: I got chills.
They're multiplyin'.
And I'm losin' control.
'Cause the power
you're supplyin',
it's electrifyin'!
G: You better shape up,
'cause I need a man
and my heart is set on you.
You better shape up;
you better understand
to my heart I must be true.
B: Nothin' left, nothin' left for me to do.
Both: You're the one that I want.
(you are the one i want), o,o, oo, honey.
The one that I want.
(you are the one i want want), o,o,oo, honey.
The one that I want
(you are the one i want want), o,o, ooooo
The one I need.
Oh, yes indeed.
G: If you're filled
with affection
you're too shy to convey,
meditate in my direction.
Feel your way.
B: I better shape up,
'cause you need a man
G: I need a man
who can keep me satisfied.
B: I better shape up
if I'm gonna prove
G: you better prove
that my faith is justified.
B: Are you sure?
Both: Yes, I'm sure down deep inside.
You're the one that I want.
(you are the one i want want), o, o, oo, honey.
The one that I want.
(you are the one i want want), o,o,oo, honey.
The one that I want
(you are the one i want),o, o, oo
The one I need.
Oh, yes indeed.

I did some further searching, and found out that Rookie is now fifteen years old, and is retired from the sport known as Canine Freestyle. This website, musical dogsport channel, will introduce you to the sport if you have never heard of it. If you haven't had enough of this beautiful dog, Rookie, you must watch this video, called a Tribute to Rookie/Canine Freestyle. Brought tears to my eyes... because I love dogs.
And here are a few other links that will satisfy your curiosity about dogs who love to dance.
