Getting ready for T'day

Yep, it's fall... and temperatures are in the 50's this week here in my part of NC.

Thanksgiving is here this week... my son's 29th birthday,... and not only will he be visiting me, but so will my sister and her husband. The best part is that I get to cook Thanksgiving dinner for them, and I'm looking forward to the day.

Which means I am off to the grocery store to buy a few necessary items... I'm trying to decide between a whole turkey or just the turkey breast. I don't care to deal with left overs... even turkey sandwiches.

I love the yard in the fall.

A more substantial entry will follow. Have a good Sunday afternoon!

I am so glad that you are all looking forward to Thanksgiving. Do you have a few days holiday ?  The turkey breast sounds good. Not so much left overs as you say.  I think I heard my Brother in law mention ordering out trukey fro Christmas the other day...can hardly believe the days ar passing so quickly now,  It is dark when I get up at around 7am  and then dark again by 4pm....short days indeed.  especially today when it has rained all day without stopping.  Love Sybil xx

Love your fall pictures. I love leaves too maybe because I don't have to rake them LOL. Hope you find what you need at the grocery. I usually do a turkey breast just because nobody wants the legs or stuff. At one point in time when my kids were really little they all wanted their own turkey legs and since I don't know where to buy a 3-legged turkey I use to have a package of just legs and cook them too. Thank goodness those days are over. Nobody cares now as long as they get meat LOL.
Take care, Chrissie

Gorgeous pictures. I'm cooking for Doc and myself this Thanksgiving. We are doing the huge Christmas family get together with his family the first week of Dec. so I'm actually looking forward to having Thanksgiving be just the 2 of us. I would be cooking even if we did go to the relatives. Doc loves his leftovers and my cooking. We ended up buying a 21 lb turkey. Your in my thoughts. Stay safe and loved. (Hugs) Indigo

oh your doggy is so adorable!
I love the fall colors. I must get out with my camera and get some. It's so pretty here now, but it doesn't last long.
How far are your son and sister coming from?

Wonderful pictures of your yard, Bea. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Over here in Vancouver, we are preparing for Christmas. The temperature is getting near the freezing mark at night, now. Snow should be here pretty soon, too.

What wonderful pictures Bea!  Your dog looks so handsome sat there amidst the leaves.  What a poser!  My dog always managed to get into all of our photos too...well he was family.  Lol!
Your yard is perfectly lit by the autumn sunshine...it looks magical!

Your Season photos just grand!
Christmas and winter work
well together in our Hemisphere.
In childhood Christmas was
spent at the beach. Our plum
pudding, with tiny coins (three-pence and
maybe an odd sixpence) inside
sometimes got mixed with sand.
An indelible memory. Our 'cold'
however quietly, sometimes, causes
us to look inward in a way we might not
at the beach. If you get my drift.

Bea, your yard is lovely!  You can tell you are in the south.  Our trees are totally bare now.  We ate at my brother's for Thanksgiving.  I really love to cook a turkey and all the fixings.  When I was married, we had both sides of the family at our house Christmas Day....turkey and all the goodies for 22 people.  I really loved doing it and miss that.  Hope you had a wonderful day!  Chris
