I agree with the other comment IF only our govt treated them better. That and I can't stand people who are taking money supposedly to help Vets out when the Vets don't get hardly any of the money. Just awful and those people should be ashamed.
Take care, Chrissie

Frankly, in my circumstances
I have to admit it was a great pleasure
and I'll always treasure memories of my
year or so stay in Korea. On night-time guard
duty at the 25th Station Hospital
near Taegu airport it did suddenly dawn
on me that I could be shot dead right then and
there, ha ha ha ha. Kidding aside, honoring
all those who served is good for our collective
soul. I had an opportunity, taken, to become
a Christian, formally, in Korea. (What's that
old one about 'No atheists in foxholes?)

I have been listening to WWII Veterans speak on PBS about their experiences and have learned much about the war first hand that I could never have realized.    Also I realize how difficult it is for the returning Iraq Veterans as it was for the Vietnam and Korean soldiers also having lived through such tramatic daily occurances.    They do deserve having honor placed upon them as well as respect for the sacrifice they have given.    mark

at a little school where I used to work, to honor the veterans, the kids made a banner...just a big piece of paper saying thank you that they all signed. There were old old men trying to stand on chairs to take it down to put it up at the VFW. They were so touched. There was a Viet Nam veteran who tried to speak to us and got all choked up because he had never gotten a welcome home after all these years. Allthe kids ran up to hug hem and everyone just bawled.
