For Those Who are Tired, a Reminder

But they that wait

upon the Lord shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run, and not be weary;

and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Sometimes I need to read this passage over to myself.

It reminds me that sometimes I will be soaring for the Lord, with strength and confidence, full of dynamic energy (like when I'm planning Vacation Bible School in the summer).

And sometimes I will be running for the Lord, like a jogger pacing herself so as not to grow weary, as when I am in the routine of teaching during the school year.

Then, sometimes, I am walking for the Lord, never intending to stop, but merely not to run for awhile; not intending to be the first to finish, but to finish. This can happen at anytime, like after I have soared, or after I have run, and so, rather than quit, rather than giving up completely, I choose to walk for awhile.

And I even remember a couple of times when the Lord picked me up and carried me along when the journey became overwhelming. Just for awhile, and then He'd set me back down again so I could walk the path on my own feet, break into a run when my strength increased, and leap into the air to soar once more, revived and potent!

That I could soar more often, but grateful when I am walking.

Beautifully put, Bea..

Sometimes... or, maybe I should say ALOT of the time, God carries me, because I get so overwhelmed with life.  In my heart I know he never deserts me, and that is what makes going on all worthwhile..

Hugs,
jackie
